Cainbable Mountain Lodge

Welcome to Cainbable Mountain Lodge and Tours

Meet me on Facebook:     Geoff Carter.

or   Contact me  on Facebook at    Cainbable Mountain Lodge.

After Cyclone Debbie damaged Lamington National Park Road in March there will be extensive repair work carried out in July-September 2017. This will involve closing the road from 6pm to 6am, Monday to Friday nights, emergency vehicles excepted. You will not be able to get to Cainbable during these times.

Cainbable Lodge is situated about 10 - 15 minutes drive from the famous O'Reillys Rainforest Guesthouse in the Green Mountains end of Lamington National Park we offer quiet and private fully self contained houses for holiday makers. Children are also welcome.

One of the best features of our property is the lookout on the top of Mt Cainbable. From here the views extend south to Mt Lindsay and north to the Sunshine Coast and the Glass House Mountains.

At the lookout, about 150m from the Chalets is a gas BBQ, picnic table, lights, power and water. Feel free to have a meal at the lookout at any time.

Geoff is now the only full time person on the property. Always happy to chat on Skype at geoff.carter10 and a warm welcome to our friends from Scandinavia, sking is my other passion so glad of any advice on the best places in Norway and Sweden.

Finally,  a big hello to my friends, students and staff from Griffith Uni on the fabulous Gold Coast.

Finally, DO NOT use GPS to get to the property. All the GPS systems for Cainbable are WRONG, Go to Canungra, turn on to Lamington National Park Road on the way to O'Reillys, I am  22 km from Canungra on the road to O'Reillys. Cheers   Geoff

Many guests from overseas have requested tours of the local area.

If you need a guide for the rainforest we can arrange for you to see waterfalls, lookouts and some of the tallest Box trees in Australia here at Lamington National Park.

However, most of the tracks in the Park are self guided and quite safe.

Many guests want a bit of everything when they visit Queensland, so its often a mix of Rainforest and Beaches, best of both worlds really!.

Its best if we discuss the kinds of things you want to see when you are in Australia. The lodge is about 60 minutes from the famous Gold Coast.  Here the  beaches are really the standout attraction.

However, there are also some beautiful National Parks  on the Gold Coast, often they are hidden gems.  (Burleigh Heads). Adjacent to Burleigh Heads Park  is the iconic James Street shopping area, full of shops that specialise in Beach Wear, quirky cafe's, off beat clothes and a typical Coast style, its where the locals go to shop! Plus if you go on Saturdays 7-12 noon you can see the markets in the local school grounds, plenty of bargains.

About 15km from Burleigh is Tropical Fruit World, another icon of the gold Coast, here you can see and tast dozens of exotic and local fruits. As well as explore the farm on which they are grown.

I cant conclude this description without mentioning Natural Bridge (or Natural Arch), a spectacular cave and underground waterfall.

The above are just some of the gems here on the Coast and Hinterland, we can discuss what you want to do, and I can guide/drive you around to these senic areas.

Tours are an extra cost.
